| November Feature of the Month "November Morn" While there is still moisture in the air, November morning's mist greets us at dawn. The day is haunted and gentle, and we are content to rest and wait for the upcoming bustle of the holiday season. This necklace is made of smoky and clear quartz beads, which are known for strength and amplification of whatever we are feeling. Finished off with a handcrafted silver clasp. | November Mini-Newsletter Last night while walking my 75lb puppy, I caught a whiff of snow. Sure enough, I woke this morning to the lightest of crystalline dustings. Where did the autumn go? Like the last leaves that hang onto the tree, I'm still hoping for a few of those crispy, beautiful autumn afternoons before the windows are shut up for the winter. I enjoy the scenery of November as much as the landscape of October. They are vastly different; November is all grays, browns and blacks, quiet and respectful. There is a "peace at last" feel to the air, and yet the wind feels full of spirit and portents of things to come. The only life in November exists in ourselves and other spiritual dimensions, and it is now that we attempt to contact each other, even if only subconsciously. The lonesome cloak we don this time of year might be the reason we have Thanksgiving at this time: we gather our friends and family year after year and feast heartily. In other traditions and cultures, Thanksgiving comes closer to the actual harvest time at the end of September, which makes more sense. It's hard for me to imagine a group of pilgrims and indians picnicking outside when it was 29 degrees out today. But now it's become our tradition, so let's enjoy it while we can. Winter forecast: Not too many pine cones on the trees, but the squirrels are furiously gathering their stores. Haven't seen any cows to determine wooliness yet...I'll keep you posted! Happy Birthday to Scorpions and Archers and Happy Thanksgiving on the 27th! |
